Belgaum, 2nd July 2024: In a significant effort to improve accessibility to
primary healthcare, Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Ltd (DCBL), one of India’s leading
cement manufacturer, inaugurated the new building of the Yadawad Primary
Health Centre today. The new six-bed hospital, will serve 14 villages in
Mudalagi Taluk, benefiting a population of 28,333 people. Replacing the old
facility in disrepair, this new construction represents a significant upgrade,
aimed at enhancing healthcare infrastructure in the region and improving
access to essential medical services for the local community. Primary Health
Centres in villages often serve as the first point of contact for medical
assistance, playing a crucial role in preventive healthcare, maternal and
child health services and the management of common illnesses. The construction

Shri Balachandra Jarkiholi, MLA, Arabhavi Constituency and President, Belagavi
District Co-operative Milk Producers’ Societies Federation, Belagavi,
inaugurated the Yadwad Primary Health Center new building and said “Dalmia
Cement Company has responded to our request and donated Rs.30 lakh for the
construction of primary health center new building and urged government
officers to do the rest of the hospital work at the earliest. A vehicle has
also been provided to the Taluka Health Office”.
DCBL Unit head, Belagavi, Shri. Prabhat Kumar Singh flagged off the event by
lighting the lamp. Commenting on the occasion Shri Prabhat Kumar Singh, Unit
Head, Dalmia Cement, Belgaum said, “We are pleased to see the completion of
the Yadawad Primary Health Centre’s new building, a key part of Dalmia
Bharat’s efforts to support rural social infrastructure. The need for robust
primary healthcare infrastructure in rural areas cannot be overstated. Access

communities. This new facility will play a vital role in improving health
outcomes and providing essential medical services to the residents of Yadawad

The event was presided over by Sri. Basavaraj Bhutali, President of Gram
Panchayat, Yadawad along with notable guests Dr. Muttappa S Koppad, Taluka
Health Officer, Gokak, F.G. Chinnanvar, Executive Officer of Taluka Panchayat,
Mudalagi, and Sri S S Gadeda, Dy. District Health Officer – Chikodi and Dr.
Gurubasappa C Kadroli from the Yadawad Primary Health Centre.
