Contribution of Rs. 25 lakhs each to CM Relief Fund of Assam and National Health Mission
Shillong, 11th April, 2020: Dalmia Cement Bharat Ltd., one of India’s leading cement brands today contributed Rs. 50 lakhs towards CM Relief Fund of Meghalaya to assist the government in fighting against COVID 19.
Speaking about their contribution, Mr. Ujjwal Batria, COO, Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Ltd. said, “These are difficult times for the nation and for the world. We at Dalmia Cement have come forward to make a humble contribution to the state, so as to join the fight against Covid 19. We are happy to see that both individuals and organisations are coming forward to help the needy in this adverse time. We, as an organisation are trying our best to help and contribute towards this fight in every way possible. We are sure we can win over this situation through everyone’s support and cooperation.”
Apart from this, the company is contributing in various other ways. They reached out to over 500 households in the adjacent villages of Assam and Meghalaya and distributed essential food items and disinfect hand wash/soap, also generated awareness among the community on COVID 19 precautions. The plant heads at various locations in the region are also reaching out to communities on a regular basis and providing them all help including food and medicines.
Dalmia Cement also contributed Rs. 25 lakhs each towards CM Relief Fund of Assam and National Health Mission. Essential ration is being distributed to daily wage workers at Lanka with the help of the local police and district authority. 20 women have been trained to make masks and stitching machines have been provided in a ‘Silai School’ program with the technical support of USHA international Ltd. in Jagiroad.
