Takes another step to showcase commitment to the state of Bihar and its people
Worked with the Bihar Government so as to ensure that the entire village gets electricity
Banjari, Bihar, August 30, 2019: Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Limited (DCBL), India’s leading cement company has been working relentlessly in the Bihar region for the last 80 years. Dalmia Cement has recently facilitated the electrification of Satagaliya village near our Banjari plant, so as to ensure that the 400 residents of the village get electricity. This initiative was undertaken with active support of Mr. Pankaj Dixit, DM, Rohtas, Jyotinath Sahdev, SDM, Dehri on Sone, along with local BSEB and Block officials.
Commenting on the initiative, Mr. Raj Kumar Banveer, Assistant Executive Director & Unit Head, Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Limited, Banjari, said, “We at Dalmia Cement, are delighted to see that Satagaliya village has got electricity connections. I am confident that the electrification of the village will prove to be a pivot in improving the socio-economic conditions of the local community and empower the people to lead a quality life. We are thankful to district administration who have played a vital role in in realizing and enabling this initiative.”

Working in line with the Government of India’s Clean and Green mission, Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Limited has also distributed solar lantern and smokeless cooking stoves in Satagaliya and the nearby villages. This has been extremely beneficial to them as these stoves cause very little pollution during cooking.
Since its acquisition of the plant recently, DCBL has worked in tandem with the Bihar government to ensure revival of the unit. This historic plant is the only integrated cement unit in Bihar. The plant has a strategic advantage, having an installed capacity of 1.1 MTPA and Clinker 0.7 MTPA. Located in Banjari, district of Rohtas, Bihar, it has a captive Limestone Mine Reserve at Murli Pahari and is just two kilometres away from the plant, with a capacity of 13 MnT. The state of Bihar is a key focus for the company, which continues to grow its operations, providing livelihood and progress to its people and development in the entire Eastern region. At present, with DCBL’s production capacity in the Eastern region at 12 MTPA, it enjoys nearly 16% of the market share in the region.
