Shillong, April 1, 2025: Dalmia Bharat Foundation (DBF), the CSR arm of Dalmia Bharat Ltd. (DBL), has strengthened its commitment to skill development in the region with the launch of its second DIKSHa Centre in Thangskai, Luhmshnong, Meghalaya. The new centre will offer hands-on technical training in the Assistant Electrician course, with the annual capacity of 120 trainees. With a placement-focused approach, the programme is designed to bridge the skill gap and align young talent with industry demands. In January this year, DBF launched its first DIKSHa Centre in the state in partnership with Jaintia Eastern College in Khliehriat. These initiatives mark a significant step in DBF’s mission to equip local youth with industry-relevant skills, enhancing their employability and access to sustainable livelihoods.
"The launch of our second DIKSHa Centre in Meghalaya reinforces our commitment to building sustainable livelihoods through industry-aligned education. At Dalmia Bharat, we believe in advancing self-reliance by equipping youth with the skills needed to build sustainable careers and drive their own success. We appreciate the continued support of the local community and the Meghalaya Government in making this initiative a reality," said Mr. Ashok Kumar Gupta, CEO, Dalmia Bharat Foundation.
The Thangskai centre is the fifth DIKSHa Centre in the Northeast, underscoring DBF’s dedication to expanding opportunities for skill enhancement and employment in underserved communities. It has trained over 1,200 youth across Northeast India, with nearly 890 securing employments in various industries. By establishing additional centres and diversifying training offerings, DBF aims to create stronger pathways to employment, contributing to the economic growth of the region.
