Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Limited marked four years of successful operations in the North East, the organisation held a grand ceremony on Thursday evening at Radisson Blu, Guwahati. During the celebration, an award ceremony called the Young Achievers Award was held where young achievers from various fields were awarded, and also the Year Book of Dalmia Bharat Cement for the year 2016 was launched.
Present at the event, Mr. Rajiv Prasad, Senior Executive Director, Dalmia Bharat Cement addressed the gathering and said, “We have completed four years in North East and have received a good support from people of the region. It has always been our endeavor to nurture young performers and project them as role models. Dalmia Cement has always
highlighted the performance of young achievers and as a mark of appreciation for their contribution towards their careers instituted the Young Achievers Award to inspire young minds to excel during early stages of their life.”
To celebrate the brand launch anniversary, company also organised the 3rd Edition of its Young Achievers Award like every year, Dalmia Bharat recognises outstanding performances by young achievers in the field of dance, journalism, sports, architecture, eco-tourism, agriculture, music, arts, acting and documentary film direction. Achievers awarded this year are – Diganta Das, Journalist, Dainik Assam (Journalism, Print); Abhilasha Borah, Journalist, News Live (Journalism, Electronic); Pramila Daimary, Gold Medalist, Archery Asia cup, 2016 (Sports); Mridusmita Das Bora, Ustaad Bismilla Khan Yuva Puraskar, Young Talented Artist Award (Sattriya Dance); Urmila Mahanta, Actor (Acting); Hiekha Neikedolie, Eco Tourism Entrepreneur (Eco Tourism Entrepreneur); Sonia Nepram, Documentary Film Director (Documentary Film Director); Tengnang D Sangma, Singer- Activist (Music); Sebul Ahmed Barbhuiya, Farmer (Agriculture) and Rittick Hazarika, Architect (Architecture). The Year Book that was launched alongside the event chronicles the achievements of the company throughout the year, right from their CSR activities carried across the region like promoting livelihood among women, constructing toilets in schools, mega plantation drive, internal activities for their employees and much more.
